Mail System[edit | edit source]

Email is currently in ViewPoint, accessible from any full fledged networked ThinkDOS workstation. This communicates with the DWAINE mainframe to store and forward email^[1].

Addresses are currently allcaps USERNAME @ SYSTEM

In the standard mailnet, your username is your first initial and your last name, and the local system is NT13

for example rcox@NT13 for rafael cox on nanotrasen space station 13

are we going to have TLDs? UUNET bangs? who knows!

Ideally, we'll be able to persist mailboxes along with characters, but that won't come until characters are locked.
